'Rock Ride' Launch Night

On Thursday 14th June, the Yellow Fish Hutchins Foundation is holding a Launch Night for the 'Rock Ride'. 

Apart from the chance to socialise there will be live musical entertainment from some of the studios finest artists; Jo Harman, Nick Pynn and more!

We are also holding a charity auction involving a wonderful array of prizes, with ever penny going to our chosen charities :

Yellow Fish Hutchins Foundation

The Yellow Fish Hutchins Foundation 'Rock Ride'

On the 30th August 2012, Yellow Fish Music Group Director Ross McCracken, accompanied by Sports Massage Therapist, Josie Dade, will undertake a cycle ride from London to the Rock of Gibraltar to launch the Yellow Fish Hutchins Foundation in support of local and international charities. Wisely, Hutchins Guitars Director, Gary Hutchins, has opted for the crucial role of driving the support vehicle.


The ride covers a staggering 1,500 plus miles through France and Spain, including a gruelling ride over the Pyrenees mountain range, before finishing at the Rock of Gibraltar on the 14th September 2012.

Thanks to the generosity of EISL and other major   sponsors, every penny will go to the charity - no admin costs, no event overheads - and, more than that, the Foundation will buy whatever the charity needs, on a specific project basis; again, avoiding any administration overheads.

Celebrity endorsements include recording artists 'Snow Patrol' and actor adventurer Charley Boorman ('Long Way Round' with Ewan McGregor). Special events, fantastic charity auction prizes and an opportunity to take part in the ride will all be announced in due course.

The ride will predominantly support three charities, The Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice which looks after terminally ill children, The Clock Tower Sanctuary, which supports the homeless and Drop4Drop; an international clean water charity.

Another busy few months at Yellow Fish Studios!!

• Studio One Revamp!

We have had a spruce up in Studio One with a new Pro Tools HD System being installed along with a new glass wall providing seperation for the Grand Piano. Add to that new carpets and a spring clean and it's an even better working environment!!! 

• New Vehicles!

We have added a new People Carrier to our fleet to enable a more efficent pick up service from Lewes Station and beyond making access to Yellow Fish a breeze. We even have a huge box trailer for your backline if needed too!!

• In The Studio!

It's been a busy but great quarter with Live DVD's from Jo Harman and Skinny Machines as well as Albums from The Atlantics, Electric Hoedown, Korda Marshal, Half Hour Hotel and The Shoestrung. We also recorded parts for several artists including an album which entered the French charts at Number 3 and an ELP Documentary filmed here in the studio.

• Charity!

Yellow Fish and Hutchins Guitars have joined forces and founded The Yellow Fish Hutchins Foundation. The charity has been set up to support several causes and fundraising events include some upcoming music events as well as studio manager Ross cycling from London to Gibraltar in August! • New Website And Video!

• Teenage Cancer Trust.

As supporters of the TCT when we heard some of the young people there had written song we jumped at the chance to record and produce it. It was fantastic working on the track which is currently in the edit and mix stages. A special thanks to Jake Rousham, Mark Broad, Robin Scott and all the musicians and helpers who took part.

• New Transfer Room.

Our new transfer and tape baking room is now complete covering most formats. If you have any old masters sitting in the loft now is the time to transfer them to digital and take advantage of the fantastic introductory rates!

• Robert Francis Joins the Team. 

We are pleased to announce that two moths ago Rob Francis joined the Yellow Fish Team on a full time basis as an Assistant Engineer for Studio 1, The new transfer facility and the Yellow Fish Mobile.

• Yellow Fish Mobile Studio.

It's been a busy summer so far for the Mobile Studio. With the New Digital Mamba Snake system and Protools installed we have had the pleasure of recording across London and the South. Most recently, along side our Video Partners Echo Digital, we produced a full DVD for the fantastic Jim Stapely which was immediately snapped up by Iron Works for release in the USA!

• The Brunswick, Brighton.

We have been wanting to use the Brunswick for live recordings for a while now but the cable runs and parking situations always made this tricky. HOWEVER, our friends at the venue have not only made their car park available to us but they are running in permanent cabling for our systems making this the perfect venue to record and film DVDs!

• Archiving and Storage.

Our Sister Company Archiving Solutions has been looking after the industries master tapes and equipment for over 10 years now. As the company has become a favourite for record companies and artists for storage and archiving we are bringing the company under the Yellow Fish Umbrella by renaming it 'Yellow Fish Archiving'. (it took us ages to come up with that name!)

• Overall.

It's been a busy three months with an album for Sony Music, Jo Harman, Jim Stapley and Joel White in the Mobile Studio, A Yellow Fish Special at Meadowlands Festival, A TV production featuring Arthur Brown and a Gallagher brother, A charity Single in the making along with Tape transfers and restoration projects for several different labels.... Oh, and DB the Studio Dog got his own Facebook!!! Can't wait for the next quarter!
